Statement: U.S. Consul General Highlights Special US-Bermuda Relationship

Following a meeting with Hon. Premier David Burt earlier this week, U.S. Consul General Lee Rizzuto highlights the longstanding ties and positive relationship between the United States and Bermuda. “Rarely can you refer to a 400 – plus, year relationship that has exemplified the true meaning of bilateral relations,” says U.S. Consul General Rizzuto.

Bermuda’s NASA Tracking Station played a valuable role during the NASA SpaceX Crew-1 mission on November 15, by confirming the rocket signal four hours into the launch. The mission was the first of six certified, crew missions NASA and SpaceX will fly as a part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program, which launched four astronauts on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. “The two countries work diligently together for the common good of its people and the world,” Consul General Rizzuto continues.

“Bermuda continues to implement safety measures and protocols for residents and visitors as we continue to face challenges during the pandemic. I am pleased to share; the U.S. Consulate General has resumed the majority of consular services. Appointments are available daily to support the community needs.”
