If you have been instructed by the Consulate to pick up and/or drop off certain documents and forms at the Guard Building you may do so, Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. excluding United States and Bermuda holidays.
The American Consulate is located at “Crown Hill” 16 Middle Road in Devonshire, between Corkscrew Hill and Montpelier Road. If you are coming from Hamilton we are off the Reid Street extension onto Middle Road (Cavendish Rd.) on the right hand side. If you are coming from the east, the consulate is just past the Arboretum on the left hand side. Generally, there is no public parking allowed at the consulate, this includes motorbikes. Our visitors are allowed to park at the parking lot located to the west of the consulate building on Middle Road in Devonshire.
If a visitor to the Consulate is challenged in any way which significantly restricts their personal movement, that person, and an escort (where necessary), may be granted vehicular access inside the Consulate property to allow immediate access to the Consul lobby. Such permission must be requested and granted at least 24hrs in advance of their anticipated arrival. Guards on duty will not offer physical assistance, but may open doors or otherwise assist with entry or exit.

You will be asked to present valid photo I.D. to the guards in order to enter the Consulate on any business.
The consulate has absolute discretion regarding what property visitors will be allowed to bring inside the consulate. All visitors must be screened prior to entering the consulate and are subject to inspection via walk-through metal detector and/or a hand-held metal detector. All personal items will undergo full inspection by use of x-ray and/or other detection equipment. In general, the following items may not be allowed inside the consulate:
You CAN bring your mobile phone and other Personal Electronic Devices (e-reader, iPad, IPod, or tablet computer) during your visit; however:
If you use electronic medical devices (such as hearing aids, pace makers, etc.), please inform the consulate guards as soon as you arrive for your interview.
Other items may be prohibited at the discretion of security staff.
Access to the consulate is limited and generally only applicants are permitted to enter and be present during interviews. On a case-by-case basis, applicants may be accompanied by ONE non-applicant. Special needs visitors may bring ONE person to assist them if they are over 80 years, are a minor child, or are disabled and require assistance during the interview/application process. Applicants may bring one interpreter if they do not speak English well enough to participate in an interview. A final decision as to whether or not an interpreter is needed will be made by consular staff on the day of the interview. Arrangements for individuals to accompany or escort applicants must be made in advance. Please send such requests to hamiltonconsulate@state.gov
Due to waiting room size, persons not meeting the above criteria above will not be permitted to accompany the applicant. If you are needed to witness a signature for a notarial service, security staff will liaise with consular staff prior to admission on premises.
Any visitor refusing to submit to security screening shall be prohibited from entering.
If you need reasonable accommodation for your appointment, we encourage you to request your accommodation immediately once you schedule your appointment. We make every effort to provide accommodations to persons with disabilities and medical conditions. Reasonable accommodations vary, depending on the situation and the person’s needs.
Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
