Event:  Upcoming flight to the United States and resumption of limited American Citizen Services

  • A privately chartered jet will be traveling from Bermuda to White Plains, New York on Saturday, June 27.   There are seats available at an estimated cost of $1,000 per seat.   If anyone has an interest, please contact: Anthony Richardson, arichardson@cedaraviation.com
  • L.F. Wade Airport in Bermuda is not expected to resume commercial flight service until July 1.  Charter aircraft are permitted to enter only with Government of Bermuda permission.

Resumption of Limited American Citizen Services:

  • As of June 18, the Consulate is accepting applications for passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.  All services will be by appointment only – we are not offering walk-in services at this time.
  • If your passport has expired or is going to expire, please complete the required forms, obtain the supporting documents (see below), and make an appointment by clicking on this link. Please ensure that you provide a valid email address and phone number when you schedule your appointment.
  • For U.S. citizen parents who would like to document the citizenship of their children born in Bermuda, please see the instructions below.
  • Note that we are not able to provide notary services at this time.

Adult passport renewals:

  • If you are in possession of your passport, and it is still valid or it has expired in the past 15 years, complete the application form here. Please note that the address in block 8 must be a local Bermuda address (nothing will be mailed there, however). Complete the form online, and then print it. Do not print the form double-sided. You must also provide one photo. Photo standards are listed here.

Passports for children under age 16:

  • Complete the form DS-11. Complete the form online and then print it. Do not sign the form, and do not print the form double-sided. Please note that the address in block 8 must be a local Bermuda address (nothing will be mailed there, however). If your child was born at King Edward Hospital, the place of birth is listed as “Paget, Bermuda”
  • Provide one passport photo for the child. Photo standards are listed here.
  • Obtain the child’s birth certificate. Both parents who are listed on the birth certificate, along with the child, are required to come to the appointment at the consulate to renew the passport. Parents must bring identification such as a driver’s license.

Parents who wish to document the U.S. citizenship of children born in Bermuda:

  • Complete the Consular Report of Birth Abroad application (Form DS-2029)  here. Complete the form online and then print it, but do not sign it.
  • Gather supporting documents and make one copy of each (black and white copies are fine, there is no need for notarized or certified copies):
    • Both parents’ passports. If you are a dual national, we only need your U.S. passport.
    • If the parents are married, the state or government-issued marriage certificate.
    • If either parent was married previously, please submit the divorce decree, annulment, or death certificate establishing the termination of the previous marriage.
    • The child’s Bermuda birth certificate.

Once you have these documents, scan and email them to us at hamiltonconsulate@state.gov and we will arrange a time for you to come in to be interviewed.

Health and Safety Information:

  • ​In keeping with the Government of Bermuda guidelines, all visitors to the U.S. Consulate must wear a mask or face covering.
  • You will be required to sanitize your hands before entering the consulate building.
  • We ask that you do not come to the Consulate if you are feeling unwell.
