U.S. Consul General Constance Dierman and Bishop Nicholas Dill invite residents and visitors of all ages to attend a free concert at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity (‘Anglican Cathedral’) on Tuesday, March 19, at 12:30 p.m., featuring the Harvard Krokodiloes and the Radcliffe Pitches.
As two of Harvard University’s oldest a Cappella groups, the Kroks and Pitches have performed an entertaining blend of harmony and humor for a variety of audiences in the United States, South Africa, England, France, Germany, China and Japan. Both groups have made Bermuda their home for over 40 years during their annual Spring Break Tour and have entertained at many different venues including hotels and restaurants.
Admission to the concert at the Cathedral is free; however, voluntary donations are encouraged and will be received by Meals on Wheels, a charity organization that has supported the homebound, disabled, and elderly in the community since 1976. With 150 dedicated volunteers, Meals on Wheels prepares, cooks, and delivers over 200 nourishing meals, four days a week, to those in need. “The meals help provide a good, balanced, and healthy diet for clients, which can play an important role in a person’s ability to remain independent” says President of Meals on Wheels Peter Smith. “Through wonderful contributions from our community, we will be able to continue to provide much more than just a nutritious meal. For many seniors, the trusted volunteer who shows up with a tasty meal and a warm smile may be the only person they see or speak with all day.” Volunteers work to maintain relationships with clients and have a special focus on seniors in the community.
“I am pleased to welcome the Harvard Krokodiloes and Radcliffe Pitches back to Bermuda this year and thank Bishop Dill for his continued support in making the Cathedral available for the public to experience these young, dynamic performers,” says U.S. Consul General Dierman. The public is encouraged to come out and enjoy the daytime show.
