Available outside of normal business hours and on weekends and holidays, for American citizens only, regarding arrests, deaths or life threatening illnesses.

In case of a life or death emergency involving an American citizen call 911 immediately.  If you need additional assistance in an emergency or urgent situation, call the duty officer at (441) 335-3828.  The duty officer is available 24 hours a day outside normal business hours and on weekends and holidays for emergencies.  You may call the consulate during regular office hours at (441) 295-1342 Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Please note, the consulate is closed for Bermudian and American holidays.

Location and Directions

The American Consulate is located at “Crown Hill” 16 Middle Road in Devonshire, between Corkscrew Hill and Montpelier Road. If you are coming from Hamilton we are off the Reid Street extension onto Middle Road (Cavendish Rd.) on the right hand side. If you are coming from the east, the consulate is just past the Arboretum on the left hand side. Generally, there is no public parking allowed at the consulate, this includes motorbikes. Our visitors are allowed to park at the parking lot located to the west of the consulate building on Middle Road in Devonshire.

If a visitor to the Consulate is challenged in any way which significantly restricts their personal movement, that person, and an escort (where necessary), may be granted vehicular access inside the Consulate property to allow immediate access to the Consul lobby.  Such  permission must be requested and granted at least 24hrs in advance of their anticipated arrival. Guards on duty will not offer physical assistance, but may open doors or otherwise assist with entry or exit.
