The U.S. Consulate will launch its first Facebook Q&A session where questions about travel to the United States, passports, visas and waivers will be answered during a live chat on May 2. The public is encouraged to log on between 1:00 – 2:00 pm and submit questions to the Consulate’s Facebook page – facebook.com/usconshamilton.
Consular staff will be on standby for one hour to answer any questions related to available consular services. This is another opportunity, outside of the ‘Ask the Consul’ radio segments, for the public to ask questions concerning issues involving travel to the United States, applying for waivers and scheduling appointments.
If participants wish to submit questions ahead of time or suggest a topic for future sessions, they can do so by sending a Facebook message through the Consulate’s Facebook page or sending an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org. In the subject line, please put “Ask the Consul, Facebook.” Questions should be brief, to allow officers to address as many participants as they can.
As more Facebook Q&A sessions will be scheduled throughout the year, the public is advised to visit the Consulate’s Facebook and Twitter pages (@usconshamilton) for regular updates about services and events.
